I’m Barry C. Brown, CPA, CITP — founder of EBITDA Advisors.

I spent nearly 30 years inside one of the largest regional CPA firms in the Southeast, serving as Chief Information Officer for more than 20 years and Chief Operating Officer for 8. During that time I led technology strategy through multiple platform generations, guided the firm through mergers and acquisitions, managed the shift to cloud infrastructure, and helped a large regional firm compete at a top-100 level.

I know what it’s like to sit in a partner meeting and defend a technology investment to a room full of skeptical CPAs. I know what it means to manage a security incident during busy season. I understand the real complexity of running Thomson Reuters and CCH environments simultaneously — and I understand what it costs when no one is leading the strategy behind them.

I founded EBITDA Advisors because I saw a gap. Mid-sized CPA firms have enough complexity to need strategic technology leadership, but rarely the scale to justify a full-time CIO. And most technology consultants they can find have never set foot inside a public accounting firm.

That is the gap I was built to fill.
